Information Overload Cured With MORE Information? Wtf.

So just like you, I’ve been bombarded with a bunch of bribe emails about Mike Dillard’s WWN (What’s Working Now) launch.

But rather than get all giddy “like a school girl” and accept these wonderful bribes…I got worried about you.

Over the past few days, Mike Dillard’s done something no short of AMAZING. He went out and addressed the most common complaint I hear from Home Business owners: Information Overload.

His new course WWN is a solution to this information overload problem. And I am glad he’s doing that for the Home Business community.

But here’s what got me worried last night. It’s that a bunch of well-meaning affiliates of his were lumping every course they ever created as free bribes to get buyers through their links. And that’s a standard technique I guess in the industry…but i think it’s poorly thought out.

Correct me if I’m wrong…but for sure the last thing you need if you’re feeling overwhelmed with info, is a PILE MORE information. More courses would only agitate the problem.

That’s why when Ray & Ferny from SEONetworker approached me to help them create a cool bonus for WWN…that supported its goal…I was all for it.

So if you thought the guru bonuses was a bad idea too, how about this instead:

Me and Ray, Ferny, David, and Jimmy are going to put on an EPIC event for the industry in Vegas. Everyone who attends that event is going to come out of it with what is working right now for us and a small handful of our elite clients. It’s basically a WORKSHOP to implement and create a high converting personal, non-replicated funnel for each person. It’s a means of traffic for each person tailored to their budget and skill set. And basically all the traffic, leads, and customers everyone needs.

Best part is, you can get in the workshop completely FREE (that’s the bribe Ray & Ferny are offering, i’m just the goat-guy who goes along with things)

If you like that idea and agree that it’s a wayyyyy cooler bribe than everyone else, go read the details here. And to make sure you can get into our epic event free, buy WWN through the SEONetworker link.

Here are all the details:

WCN – What’s Confusing you Now

I remember coming home from school one day when I was 9. And I begged my dad to let me play on the computer.

Hypercard was one of the early multimedia solutions for Apple Mac
Hypercard was one of the early multimedia solutions for Apple Mac

Dad wanted to stall me so he could finish his work and knew exactly what buttons to push to dismiss me. He convinced me (somehow) that if I’d just learn programming I could make all the games I wanted. He got me all excited & gave me a computer MANUAL about an old multimedia design application that only came out for Apple called “Hypercard”.

Off I went to study it in the other room.

Soon after reading like 5 pages, I started to get really antsy. All I wanted was to DO IT. And I was back in there bugging him for the computer again.

That’s probably why I’ve never understood this whole thing about “information overload”. It’s physically impossible for me to get it–because I’m sorta trigger-happy with whatever new info i get. I need to use it right away, whether i can make it work or not.

I did that in home-school with Math too…

I hated reading the lesson. I’d seriously start at the assigned problems. Obviously since I hadn’t bothered reading the lesson, I had no idea how to answer. So I’d look for something similar in the worked examples to copy, and then i’d work back-wards to the theory if it was necessary.

That’s why I can come off as dismissive of info-overload as a REAL problem in this industry.

I do understand, though, that not everyone is able to filter information effortlessly.

Today I came across a video that addresses the problem head on and provides a solution. I knew it would be the right thing to do to share that with you here. Especially that it’s something I hear oh so often from most of my coaching students. They’re always telling me, “Jim, I got too much information and I just don’t know where to start!”

This video has one of the clearest and most impactful explanations I’ve seen of the following:

  • which exact TWO tasks you should focus on when building your business
  • which products and mailing lists you should completely ignore and even unsubscribe from
  • the exact traffic source that will ALWAYS work forever no matter what new innovations come out
  • how to acquire information in a way that it could never confuse you
  • how to make sure you move forward every single day regardless of how tiny the step you take is
  • and much more cool stuff it would be unfair for me to try to summarise here

If you’re bombarded by information and you’re feeling totally confused by which traffic method you should be working on and which tasks you should be doing with your business…if you can’t get your website up, and all the technology is freaking you out…

do yourself a favour and head on over to watch the video below…

Hi ya

You are a honey, thank you so much for your kind words .... bloody
excellent - the 70% is coz I have an awesome guru!!

How do I sum up the time? - here we go - of course edit where you think!!

How do I describe the weekend that has just passed in one word? – I
can’t, it would be impossible.

I made a simple decision, got on a 12hr flight and was part of what I
can only describe as ‘pure mastery’ in action.

I had no idea if I would even be considered - me, a mum from New
Zealand – I had 4 days to organise a flight, accommodation, tell my
husband and 2 kids mum was off to the USA for 3 sleeps to meet a
group of guys she barely knew miles from home.

Now, I’ve been working on additional income streams for 12mths and
somehow I just knew that 48hrs with these guys would connect the dots
for me. What happened in 18 hours with these geniuses
was incredible and I am so grateful and in awe of the talent I
witnesses and what they pulled off in such a short amount of time.

Overnight my campaign was built, leads were coming in from Jim Yaghi’s
wizardry PPC experience and by the time I got on the plane home my
campaign conversion rate hit 70%!

To the masters I watched in awe – a massive ‘thank you’ - Jim Yaghi
you are a legend, Jimmy Davis your vision and ideas are second to
none, Raymond Fong for your focus and professionalism, Ferny
Ceballos for your technical talents and David Schwind an absolute
bonus for the weekend your copywriting tips were greatly appreciated.

To anyone who is fortunate to cross paths with any of these absolute
MASTERS, you will be blessed with more than you could ever imagine –
grab hold of the opportunity – you will NEVER look back."

The Things That Matter

Gayle was full of energy, she oozed with it.

When I first met her, it took a moment for my brain to register her dialect. Suddenly, I was overwhelmed with a nostalgia one can only feel…for home.

By god it was the rugged sound of a Kiwi accent.

Having grown up in New Zealand and done much of my university education there, I was over the moon. I adjusted my hearing over from the californian english i’d grown accustomed to over the past weeks into a dialect of english spoken in rural new zealand. i couldn’t contain my excitement. She knew it.

I asked. She answered. What of our beloved city? What new slang do they have? What old words from school days that we forgot? Which buildings have come and gone? And on it went.

allblacks

How strange that I picked to wear my New Zealand “All Blacks” t-shirt that day. Coincidence, i swear. But Gayle was pleased with my pride of New Zealand.

Quickly, one of the boys who knew Gayle’s story filled us in over dinner.

She was no ordinary networker. She’d spent over 100,000 dollars last year following her uplines’ advice trying to grow a residual income. All to no avail. What frustrated Gayle most was that it felt like it was only yesterday when she was a REAL businesswoman. She’d built and sold a highly profitable brick and mortar asset and had done VERY well for herself.

And her family.

So why was this online thing so hard, she wondered.

She flew from New Zealand to find out. Gayle hired me for the day. She also hired my entire PERSONAL mastermind…yeah the guys III personally mastermind with. She brought them on as her own business advisors. And she did NOT want to share us with anyone else.

We prepared for the challenge. After dinner with the gang, we returned Gayle to her hotel where she needed to sleep off jetlag. And we agreed to all meet again at 9.30 the next morning.

I fueled up on a hearty breakfast. I think we all did because we knew it was going to be a long day.

The business-counselling session was to be held in a pretty boardroom. I was in love with the table. It was the coolest boardroom table i’ve ever seen in real life. (admittedly, also the first time i see one)

We closed the room shut behind us and we didn’t break for hours. What happened in that boardroom was nothing short of transformation.

Last night, Gayle arrived in New Zealand and sent me the following message. She said i can share it with you:

Thanks Gayle. I know. We’re amazing. Especially me :)

Now the reason I shared that letter with you wasn’t to show you how popular i am. It’s just some good ole social proof being craftily used to underline the importance of you listening to me…

I’m always being asked, “How can i generate more leads?”. And since i’m a geek who had no friends in school, i’d start on a long technical explanation of the best traffic sources and which is better for whom…

And i would have wasted my time answering.

Whoever asks this question isn’t making money. Because whoever has actually generated ANY kind of income from their business knows that the traffic method is really irrelevant to whether or not they generate money.

And gurus are keen to exploit these nice guys who are trying to find the magical lead source that all the internet millionaires are keeping to themselves.

Silly billies.

It doesn’t matter if they use social media or article marketing, ppc or seo.

Traffic is easy. I got gangs of it they can have.

But no selling sequence? What does that do to one’s business?

Traffic is worthless if you’re not doing something with it. If a marketer doesn’t have a way to turn traffic into buyers, then that marketer can NEVER make money. No matter how long they’ve been working at it. And getting traffic from facebook is as much a waste of time as getting it from ppc or seo or whatever.

I bet you 100 bucks that if you’re frustrated right now with your business and you’re not making the income that you’d like from it, then you don’t have a BASIC funnel setup. Just something that offers a prospect to buy something.

Without a funnel, You don’t have a business.

Unfortunately, I had no idea that was where most people were hung up. Until I got together with Gayle, Synthia, Matthew, and others who joined me recently in mastermind and coaching sessions.

The thing is, that stuff isn’t that hard. But for many students i’ve worked with, it has been the most difficult thing to do alone. A couple of days with me and my guys you’ll have a funnel up lickity spit.

allofusworking

That’s all we did with Gayle. The information she had been keeping herself busy absorbing was just holding her back in perfection land. We helped her find a unique selling proposition of her own and a message to turn a potential prospect into a sale. After that, it was a matter of a few hours for me to build her a simple traffic campaign, for her to record a video for the landing page and upload it to YouTube, and to get our web guy to throw together an application form to qualify the sale.

We wrapped up for the night. Stuffed our starved faces on cheese nachos from the hotel restaraunt. And conked out.

The next day’s results were a shock even to me.

I mean, I knew we’d get SOME traffic. I just didn’t think it would be in that much volume nor for that cheap. Her landing page converted higher than anything i’ve ever seen–honestly, i think it was how she connected with the prospect.

In less than 24 hours, she had nearly 50 home business leads for less than 30 cents each. You know what though?

Gayle could have spent months trying to learn and implement all the copywriting, technical, and traffic secrets…but what for? Her first try is already outperforming the traffic of some of the industry’s top producers.

Ask yourself…does your business have a clear path that allows a prospect to move from being just a viewer of your ad to a buyer of your product? If that’s not there, don’t buy another training product. Don’t listen to another training call.

Let’s just build your funnel…

Let’s Just Build Your Funnel…

(“skip the bull, let me apply”)

Hi.

I’ve been a little silent online lately and haven’t been in touch with you often.

The truth is that I’ve been reflecting on my goals and it really wasn’t part of my plan to be an Internet Info marketer.

I actually used to say

“I HATE teaching.”

Last thing i ever dreamed to be.

Teaching frustrated me. When I was 8, I’d show someone how to do something on the computer, they’d watch me do it, then they couldn’t just repeat the example in front of me. I didn’t have the patience for it. The instruction, to me, was simple, yet i couldn’t pass onto someone else that simplicity.

I’d kind of forgotten how frustrated it made me. All i could see was that teaching was the way to make money on the internet.

I got sucked into the hype of all the guru launches, the educational blog posts, and so on…and then i remembered that i hated it.

But last week, I have to tell ya, when we worked one-on-one with students up here in our very own boardroom, (yeah, giant table and all!)

it was the coolest feeling in the world!

I wasn’t frustrated at all…because anything i didn’t like about how a student was running their business, i just got rid of it. I fixed it for them. I helped them put the pieces that work together and sent them on their way with something they can actually work with.

Then I realised i didn’t hate teaching…i just didn’t like how ORDINARY it would make me…if i was JUST a teacher.

But this….what I do, what you do…

it’s NOT ordinary.

We help people reach the pinacles of their greatness.

So listen..straight up, i wanna do more of this. One on One training with our mastermind, sitting around you, analysing your business…it’s great fun.

I want you to apply for it below, because it would be great to meet you and help you.

Here’s the thing though, we’re being a little selective with who we let in. It’s really to protect our own reputation. It makes us look bad if someone gets help from supposedly four of the industry’s greatest experts…and then goes home and does nothing with what we give him or her…

We rather help someone who is proactive and determined…who’s stuck and is in desperate need of help because they’re trying so hard to move forward. That way we can help him or her and they’ll use the jump start we give them to take off!

That’s the stuff which makes us look good.

How To Get Amazing Conversions From Name Squeeze Boxes

Right so Raymond sends out an email and i’m not the type to quote from email threads, but this is educational. Raymond’s email has a SINGLE link. nothing else. Wow. Rude, right?

I clicked the link and was taken to this site where a guy does a study to test the two versions of the form to my left. You’ll notice the form with fill-in-the-blank exercise  actually significantly outpulls the traditional one.

Ferny emails back to tell us how excited he is about the concept.

Meanwhile, I came up with this example i might use on my “bugger off” optin box :

Hi,

My name is _________. Pleased to meet you Mr. Jim Yaghi. I’d love for you to email me some of your insights to marketing and your ebook on having a great time while keepin it real with the lord. You may email me at _________________.

Best Wishes,

_____________

Look at that, I even got them to tell me their name twice. Booyahh!

I haven’t tested this, but it would be worth a shot. If you get amazing conversions with it, let me know.
