Opinions Are Like A******s…everyone’s got one!

The point that MLM is the ONLY passive income anyone can get is stupid.

Hey big shot. 😉

Seems like yesterday’s email hit a sore button for many MLM defenders.

One funny guy said on Facebook, “I always like to give my opinion: All the alternatives for passive income you gave as examples require a large investment which few people can afford. MLM is the ONLY way to get passive income that ANYONE can afford.”

LOL

My response:

“Opinions are like assholes…everyone’s got one.”

Haha…difference is when you have traffic and a mailing list thousands will hear your opinion. His will go unheard.

So at the risk of sounding politically correct, allow me to share my view.

The point of yesterday’s email was not to rag on MLM…

Please make no mistake about it though, I THINK MLM IS NOT A BUSINESS IN THE FIRST PLACE. But hey I don’t mind getting traffic for clients who want to build a MLM. It’s their choice what to do with the traffic I send them.

But I digress…

The point that MLM is the ONLY passive income anyone can get is stupid.

Many of the examples I gave yesterday required NO sign-up fee and little investment. Whereas MLM DOES require a sign up fee.

Also, in my examples, any money you invest goes toward buying something useful that works. Whereas, the sign up fee you pay to join a MLM is just to get products that you’ll probably store in your garage or consume yourself without any business use.

Unless you join an ONLINE mlm, in which case you buy the right to market someone else’s system. Still, you don’t buy a passive income.

Furthermore, the point I made yesterday was that there are other passive income alternatives that have a HIGHER SUCCESS rate than MLM. Just because it’s something “anyone can afford”, doesn’t mean it’s a winning investment.

I’d BORROW the money to invest in a business I had a good chance of succeeding with ANY DAY over putting in $1 into something I’d most likely fail at.

But still, that’s not all I said.

I said that people who want MLM for its passive income have:

No money

No skills

And don’t want to do any work

No matter what the business model, passive income will require AT LEAST one of the above.

So even if you have no money and no skills and you believe MLM is the ONLY way to get a passive income, you better be prepared to make up for your lack of money and skills with 100 times as much work.

On the other hand, if you have a little money with no skills but you’re willing to do a little work, then you can put your money to work:

Pay for advertising (PPC)…and…outsource what you don’t have the skills to do!

When you get our Done-For-You Traffic Consultation, we build a traffic campaign for you AND give you the option to run it on your behalf for a TINY monthly fee (<$100).

The Holy Grail of Passive Income

Hey Moneybags! 😉

Here’s a funny line I am so tired of hearing…

“I am doing MLM because I want leverage and passive income”.

This statement is stupid. Realise this.

Passive income means an income received on a regular basis, with LITTLE effort required to MAINTAIN it.

There are better (more proven) ways than MLM which get a higher success rate for passive income…e.g.,

Rental income.

Being financier / venture capitalist for a business someone else is building.

Becoming the founder and mastermind of a self-sustaining business which has employees doing all the work.

Selling a membership area.

Having an army of affiliates to sell your digital products.

I could go on, but I think you get the picture.

Notice the definition says “LITTLE effort required to MAINTAIN it.”

Little is not the same as NO effort.

And MAINTENANCE of the income is not the same as SETTING UP the income source.

That’s where the trouble lies for people in the industry who think MLM is the answer. First off, they think Online MLM is the only way to get an income with NO effort…and they’re under the unrealistic impression that it needs little effort to setup.

They have no skills. No money. And don’t want to work. Losers!

Passive income is one of the HARDEST things to set up.

Every single business owner on this planet CRAVES it…and many spend millions of dollars and a LIFETIME in setup, only to find that their business will never give passive income.

But I’ve accomplished passive income several times…

Thousands of dollars would hit the bank every day and I only checked on my stats for 15-mins a day just to pat myself on the back. And the secret (at least online) was ALWAYS:

1. Some kind of paid advertising (e.g., PPC)

2. Outsourcing/delegating or automating delivery

So I know what it takes to get passive income. And MLM is the hardest way I’ve seen to attain it.

But when you get a Done-For-You Traffic Consultation, you will get BOTH:

1) A paid advertising campaign BUILT FOR YOU, and…

2) A variety of specialist employees to keep on retainer who you can trust to do the day-to-day business.

How To Come Up With Lateral PPC Keywords

Get creative…think outside the box…build a keyword list unique to you.

A reader wrote in last week with the following question…

“Ewan,

I’m starting ppc marketing and have hit a brick wall. How do you build on top of your main keywords? I have got about 20 and can’t think of any more. That’s never going to take my business to the next level.”

It’s a great question and one I hear over and over again from marketers entering the ppc battlefield.

The cool part is that 20 keywords could easily make you $20,000/mo. In fact, I have a friend who is consistantly doing $25,000/mo from 4 keywords. :)

But it’s near impossible to do this from a standing start. You will have to build a bigger list and find what’s working for you.

I Feel Your Pain

I too, when starting ppc, hit the very same wall. My first training taught me to open an excel spreadsheet and list as many keywords related to my product as I could. I think I got around 12 and seriously thought there were actually NO MORE. 😉

More Pain

Being an inexperienced ppc marketer, the next frustration was the ‘newbie tax’ :( – the first keywords you come up with that are usually very generic and not ‘buyer keywords.’ Every single marketer in your niche is doing the same. This means you have to pay through the nose for these generic keywords and they often don’t convert. 1000’s of dollars and leads later = no sales!!!

Let Me Explain

I was looking for MLM-type keywords. My list went like this…

MLM, Network Marketing, Home Business, Work From Home. Very generic, agree? People searching for this are generally ‘just looking’ and cost you lots of wasted ad-spend.

Getting creative, thinking outside the box, and building a keyword list unique to you, is important if you are going to create a killer ppc campaign. Find keywords with low competition, which are extremely qualified, then line them up like soldiers ready for battle in neat little ad groups. This can bring you crazy results. So…

How To Come Up With Lateral PPC Keywords?

You need to get inside the mind of your ideal customer. What are they searching for? What are their problems (i.e. the ones you’re about to solve)? When you have listed some relevant keywords, run them through the Google Keyword Tool for more ideas.

Inside the Yaghi Labs Internet Business Academy, you will learn how to come up with a keyword list which is unique to you and will deliver insane amounts of qualified, eager-to-buy customers.

What are you waiting for?

How To Create An Effective Facebook PPC Ad

Facebook is a great platform for selling and promoting products using their pay-per-click advertising service. There is a wrong way to do it and a correct, more effective way to do it. This article lays out a simple effective way to create Facebook Ads.

I’m sure you would agree that Facebook PPC is an extremely effective way to put your product in front of a massive crowd.

Unless you’re running a brand awareness campaign then the whole point of using Facebook’s Ad platform is to turn a profit.

The term ‘Facebook is the new Google’ is one that has been thrown around a lot recently, and while I agree that Facebook is a great opportunity, it is a completely different horse to ride.

User’s go to Google to get a question answered. Facebook user’s are there for social pleasure. They are busy interacting with friends, looking at photos and other things of INTEREST to them.

You can use the user’s interest to your advantage.

While they are happily browsing, if your ad is effective enough, they will view it as an ‘interest’ rather than one of those annoying things down the side :)

I have been responsible for writing ads that have pulled in as much as $50,000 in sales so…

Lets look at creating an effective Facebook ad.

I like to keep things simple, so when you have your product, find out who wants it and give them it.  Sounds easy right?

How do you find them?

Facebook’s targeting is awesome and you can get really specific on who you want to target from the list below:

  • Location – city or country
  • Demographic – age, gender, marital status
  • Interests
  • Work/Education
  • Connections

For example.

If you were selling wonder slimming pants for women, you would target by gender and age.

If you had an ebook that teaches a better golf swing, you might target by interests and age.

Note that unless I was selling something in a foreign language, I always target English speaking users.

Once you have your product or your offer, and you know who it would appeal to, you need to create the ad.

The ad is broken up into 3 parts.

  1. Your Headline
  2. Your Picture
  3. Your Ad copy

It is important to write your ad in a way that would appeal to the type of the audience you plan to advertise to.

Lets pull apart an ad that I used some months back which was extremely effective. I was targeting people who are struggling in MLM. Remember I said, I like to keep things simple, well my headline was…

Struggling in MLM?

I always like to ask a question where possible. It is human nature that the mind will want to answer it. If they are struggling in MLM then chances are their eyeballs will be drawn to it.

Next up is the picture. Facebook can be pretty strict with what you use. They say it has to accurately reflect your ad/product. So if you are selling shoes and you insert a picture of a banana, then they will most likely disapprove it.

Here is the picture I inserted into my ad

I went with the monkey for 2 reasons.

  1. It’s a little different and eye catching
  2. He also looks like he is thinking something over, exactly what I wanted the user to do.

Last, but by no means least, is your ad copy. After you have grabbed the attention of the user, here is where you are going to completely sell them on clicking your ad. So my ad copy went like this…

Not getting the results you want? I know why and it’s not your fault. Come and see how you can get all my secrets today, for free.

So I think it’s fair to say, this ad is extremely effective for targeting my customer type. I touched on their pain and let them know that I can help and also ended the ad with a call to action

You will also have to choose the destination of your potential customer. You can send them to your own website or a fanpage inside Facebook. Personally, I had best results with sending them to my own website but either way is good. Wherever you send them, make sure its congruent with what you are offering, if they click on an ad that is offering a bacon sandwich, it’s because they want a bacon sandwich :)

Another thing to consider, make sure you test small, set a low daily budget, once you know your ad converts, ramp up the ad spend.

These are simple rules as promised. Try them out then come back here and let us know how you got on.

How I Maintain an Alexa Spike and get 1.3 Million+ hits to my MLM Blog Every Month

What is crazy is I am not very technical, don’t do any article spinning or submitting and less than 2 years ago the Alexa ranking for my MLM Blog was “No Data”.

So, how did I go from “No Data” to being ranked under 16,000 worldwide on Alexa?

It is actually very simple and it is something that anyone else can duplicate.

First of all, I did the things that most network marketers are scared of or are trying to use the Internet to escape from which is prospecting. I prospected on Facebook, twitter and youtube and enrolled a lot of reps into my company.

These experiences gave me a good idea on what was in the minds of network marketers and it was first from those experiences that I began to write and do videos on my blog.

Here are the 3 steps that you can follow to get more traffic to your blog.

Step 1.

Get in the head of your perfect prospect. What do they struggle with, what problems do they face, what books would they buy, etc.

Speak to them rather than do what most network marketers do which is hope any unnamed or unclassified person hopefully finds their content intriguing.

Do not be afraid to write or say things that ONLY your perfect prospect would agree with.

For example,

My MLM Blog is very pro network marketing. I say things on there that people who do not like MLM would run away from. I don’t care to resonate with everyone but I certainly want to resonate with my target prospect.

Step 2.

Have a process. Create a process of when you create content and what you do with it once you have it. When it comes to creating content it is much less about being creative and more about seeing it as a process that is there to help your business.

Most new network marketers struggle with two things,

  1. how to come up with content
  2. and, Their own credibility.

Both of these can be easily overcome regardless of your experiences with your network marketing business.

Step 3.

Be consistent. Few people follows steps 1 and 2 but even fewer follow step 3. Steps 1 and 2 don’t matter very much unless you are also being consistent.

The search engines love consistency as does your target prospect. Creating a blog post every few weeks will never get you much traffic.

Create content often, I suggest once a day or 5 times per week. This will do wonders for your leads, traffic and reputation online.

To Be or Not to Be — Part of the Selling Equation

A recent shift in strategy in the affiliate and network
marketing world has been towards “personal branding”
and positioning of yourself as a compelling part of your
overall offer. While I do see some value to that, I’m
not completely convinced.

In a way, things have come full-circle. In MLM in the
past, “you” were the issue. And it was your responsibility
to become the “voice box” that transmitted the information.

It wasn’t as much about the products we were promoting as
it was about our ability to perform or how well individuals
could sell.

We saw people taking water filters door-to-door and we saw
people doing party-plans with candles and cosmetics and we
saw people trying to retail thousands of dollars of skin-care
and weight loss products.

And while all of that is still viable today, through the
mediums of faster communication we can make money at a faster
rate and promote a more desirable “selling” atmosphere for the
masses. And in doing so, we as an industry (MLM) become more
flexible and thus become more desirable for the masses to
participate in — which offers each of us in network marketing
more leverage and appeal!

In many cases, the mistake networkers make is that they try to
“become the issue”. Which they shouldn’t be. Because if you teach
“celebrity” or that having a robust personality (selling) is a critical
factor in your operation, you’ll drive away the bulk of your
potential downline.

Because the masses can’t sell and don’t want to be in your selling
business. Naturally, solid relationships and having “people persons”
in your downline is what we all strive for.

But I’d rather make the process of prospecting relatively easy for
people so I can (A) attract more people and (B) let the system attract
the right kind of people for my business. So we erase people’s need
to be “sales types” and we simply get them to blitz the market with
our information.

Which is easier? Giving a post card or one-pager to a prospect
that points to your Web site, or trying to train them to do one-on-one
combat with their friends through “by the book” in home presentations?

My Phone Room.Com—Never Call A MLM Or BIZ Lead Again!

Cold calling mlm leads or any business lead is a waste of most business owners time.
And besides that, most network marketers hate picking up that gorilla—the phone.

Please don’t misunderstand me,there are some network
marketers that enjoy picking up the phone and prospecting. But there are several draw backs to calling leads yourself.

Here are 3 chief reasons why calling your own leads are counter productive:
1. You can better leverage your time by using call center outsourcing. Call center outsourcing will allow you to free up your time to do other productive things in your business. It will allow you to use your time doing things you like to do,like having more family time,or doing hobbies you love to engage in so much.
The leveraging via a call center outsourcing service will allow you to work your home business at a faster more efficient rate than all other network marketers or home business owners. By having a virtual call center, you will make more money. Think about it,there is a person calling your leads even thou they might not FEEL like doing it. They have to keep calling, because as a waged employee— it’s their job.

So… they are essential like robots for you. They have to do such grunt work in order to eat. That’s a good thing cause for your business, you are accelerating upwardly, even thou on a given day,you don’t feel like prospecting.

With a virtual call center… THE BEAT GOES ON!

2.Easy duplication for your mlm business.
Think about it. How duplicable is it for your downline to cold call leads? They might start out calling like a mad man,but a few “nos”, a few “stop calling me” prospects,a few hang ups in yo face will cause the toughest network marketer to surrender.

Enter the safe haven of the call center. It’s duplicable for your downline. It’s duplicable for their downline. So with all this duplication; doesn’t it stand to reason that you and your downline will stay in business? Think you’ll make more money? Think they will make quicker money—more money?

You betcha!

3. Finally, think of how much more professional you will look if you have a virtual assistant that edifies you as a leader?
Think you’ll garner respect that has thus far eluded you?
Respect like the big boys garner!

Make more money. Have more time freedom. Get the virtual office that will take your business to the sky.

Mooing Cows, Kansas UFOs, & the Possum Attack of Network Marketing Winner!

I think our live PPC event should have been sponsored by Redbull.

Because David and I were guzzling those things for 6 days straight. He came in on a delayed flight from another speaking event and it was non-stop from the second he walked in.

Neither of us got any more than 10 minutes of sleep a night as we planned, taught, and socialised with our students. In fact, in Kansas, I have to tell you there was never a day without some kind of weird and out of this world adventure. What with the possum that attacked one of our students (who was actually a well-known Network Marketing leader)…and the UFO David swears he witnessed out of my bedroom’s window…

All stories i’ll share with you in time.

But what I wanted to tell you about was this video we shot for you before we left Kansas to go work on our next big project.

We were sitting around a bon fire roasting marshmellows and smores in pitch black amongst the cow and buffalo. When we received an E-Mail from Mike Dillard announcing the release of MLM Traffic Formula 2.0. Which if we understand correctly is an overhaul of the original Traffic Formula course.

As we sat around the fire, each of us in turn told our war stories about the hardships we had in the industry and how our students are now filled with hope and success. And it brought back memories for the both of us, David and I.

Because, three years ago, we were in our own dark places of struggle and poverty. It was around then that a course called the MLM Traffic Formula first launched. We scrambled to buy our admission to the live calls. And later when I received the recordings I think I had listened to them maybe a million times. I swear i put the cds on loop for weeks on end falling asleep to them some nights, and driving around town on others with the voice of Mike and his experts blaring through my subwoofer around Sydney.

That course was the beginning for me. After going through it, I finally began to generate leads online and sponsor distributors. Which led to many good things. This year I already had a successfull $0.5 MILLION dollar launch, generated 1,000 leads a day and as many as 15,000 leads in a single month. Sold out a live event in 45 minutes flat, trained, and worked with the top distributors in the industry.

Now that MLM Traffic Formula 2 is coming out, I think it will be the beginning for you too.

Get Traffic Formula 2 Here when it goes on sale tomorrow.

Oh, by the way, I’ll be contributing all the training on Pay-Per-Click marketing in the updated version. So if you want to hear more about that from me, I promise I’ll pull out some of my best information to share with you there too.

Does Google Hate Affiliate Advertisers?

Yesterday I was forwarded a message from a distressed fellow reader who discovered all his campaigns were disapproved for violating Google’s terms of service.

Here is his story (as posted in comments):

Hi Jim – Google changed the rules yesterday. All my ads were disapproved or their Quality Score went so low they won’t ever display. I called an 800 number I have for Google and spoke with one of their adwords reps. Google no longer considers network marketing, affiliate marketing and MLM businesses as “valid” businesses.

Yesterday I was forwarded a message from a distressed fellow reader who discovered all his campaigns were disapproved for violating Google’s terms of service.

Here is his story (as posted in comments):

Scott Phares •  Jan 31, 2009 @2:49 pm

Hi Jim – Google changed the rules yesterday. All my ads were disapproved or their Quality Score went so low they won’t ever display. I called an 800 number I have for Google and spoke with one of their adwords reps. Google no longer considers network marketing, affiliate marketing and MLM businesses as “valid” businesses. As a result, they have disallowed all ads forwarding to affiliate links/sites, bridge pages that then forward to an affiliate site, and any site that contains or mirrors all or portions of a parent company site. Even my ads for my own personal site landing page and home business web sites went down. They did not disapprove them, but they lowered my Quality Score so low that the ads never display. So be prepared, you may not see this happen until you edit or create a new ad, then Goggle will review all your campaigns, that’s when all your MLM, home business and affiliate ads will drop. I moved all mine to Yahoo last night until we all can come up with a solution to this.

This is going to shut down every ad anyone has running on Google as an affiliate for the Magnetic Sponsoring products. See http://www.perrymarshall.com for his video on Google Tightening the Screws Again, he is having a live call on Monday at noon CST concerning this, don’t know if he will have a soluton or not.

I went to investigate immediately…could it be true? Is Google shutting down affiliate advertisers for good?

Should we panic?

It’s unlikely.

Two years in the online advertising game, the rules have changed many times for me before too. People predicted doom…businesses shut down because they couldn’t generate traffic any more, people were angry, fingers got pointed…

And yet, online marketing lived on. Fortunes were made by others.

In fact, I was only a small-fry for many of those changes. Yet, here I am today: Still generating tons of Google Adwords traffic, still making sales, and still in Google’s good books. So far anyway 😉

I gotta admit, though, Scott’s message sure made me nervous.

First thing I did, was to get in touch with Adwords support. I asked for the latest policy on affiliate advertising.

Don’t click the link yet, but here it is: http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/static.py?page=guidelines.cs&topic=9271&subtopic=9280

Let me save you the distraction of clicking through to the policy page. This is the first line you’re going to read:

We do not allow data entry affiliates to use AdWords advertising, but all other affiliates may participate in the AdWords programme.

And don’t beat yourself up about not knowing what a “data entry affiliate” program is. Although Google’s help links the text to a dead page, I saw this very rule back in April of 2008. So nothing has changed there. NOTHING at all.

Data entry affiliate programs are dodgey. You guys are a good bunch and I don’t recommend you get involved in such things. (If you’re involved in dodgey stuff, you’re disowned ;))

Most of you here have your own legitimate business (info marketing business, small business, network marketing, mlm, direct sales). The-other-most-of-you promote affiliate products from sites like Clickbank, Commission Junction, and maybe Hydra and NeverBlue. You guys are all safe.

The sentence i ripped out of the adwords policy basically translates to:

“You Are Allowed To Use Google Adwords To Advertise Your Business”

Next, on the above policies page, Google says that they “monitor” and “don’t allow” the following:

  • Redirect URLs
  • Bridge Pages
  • Framing

I don’t remember the last two items on the list because it’s been some time since I’ve revised this page. But if you’re a PPC Domination customer or you’ve been doing Adwords for any length of time you know by now that redirected URLS (also known as URL forwarding) are not allowed.

This means, you can’t register a godaddy domain and use its URL-Forwarding option to redirect its visitors to your affiliate URL. Adwords imposes this rule by insisting that you use the same top-level domain on both your display and target URLs. That’s nothing new, that’s why I told you guys to use the masking option too (we’ll get to that in a second).

Until yesterday, I’d never heard of a “Bridge Page“.

A quick definition search on Google uncovered these definitions in context for a “Bridge Page”:

  • is similar to a “Doorway Page”, because it is an entry page into a website designed to target keywords that are usually absent from the …
    www.websight.net.au/search-engine-optimisation/marketing-terms.asp
  • Another term for a doorway page.
    www.simply.com.au/glossary.php
  • Also known as a doorway page, an information page, or spam. A web page created for the sole purpose of ranking well in the search engines. …
    www.corporatewebsitemarketing.com/search-engine-marketing-glossary.html
  • These are keyword specic pages made specially to rank well in search engines. It acts as an entry point through which visitors get in to the main …
    www.searchenginegenie.com/search-engine-glossary-b.htm
  • Like a “Doorway Page”, a specifically designed entry point to a web site.
    www.spiderseo.net/SEO%20Glossary.html

A quick skim of the above reveals that a bridge page is a piece of internet spam. It’s a page whose purpose is JUST to bullshit Google and other searches into believing that relevant content exists on this site. Does that sound like a nice thing to do?

No. We’re marketers here, guys. We don’t want to trick anyone to click our ad. It costs us money for untargeted traffic. So I hope you’re not using nor were you contemplating using a bridge page.

And finally, framing.

Here is where we run into trouble. Because I’ve advised many beginners to use URL masking/cloaking to avoid creating landing pages for adwords. This had, for some time, been a valid alternative to using domain forwarding on the merchant’s page.

Masking or cloaking works by using an HTML element called a “frame”. It’s a way you can embed one webpage inside another. Usually, you take the affiliate page from the merchant and embed it in a single page on your own domain so it appears like the affiliate page actually came from your domain.

Let’s be straight up here…URL masking is a deceptive practice.

I only suggested it as a temporary solution for people who wanted to start advertising in adwords. Unfortunately, the recent banning of “framed” landing pages makes your life a little harder–Particularly if learning to make landing pages was something you planned to put off till later.

On the upside, you were going to have to create your own landing pages eventually.

Effective and profitable Pay Per Click advertising really requires that you have several different landing pages to better match each keyword you bid on.

I know that not everyone’s tech savvy–but it’s easy enough that anyone can learn it. Yes, even you grandma–I mean, hey, we’re internet marketers! Roll up your sleeves and learn it. Or if you got the money to hire someone to do it for you, go for it.

If you guys ask for it, I might have to release a simple guide for technically challenged people to create their own landing pages.

Anyway, the Adwords Affiliate policy page continues with suggestions of what Google would like to see on advertisers’ landing pages. Consider these, not just as suggestions, but as an exact formula for getting dirt cheap advertising on Adwords. Following this advice will qualify you for Google rewards of cheaper click costs, more exposure, and higher profit.

Consider these guidelines as the rule book for staying in Google’s good books, even if the policies change.

And by the way, in case you were wondering, I’ve checked on my affiliate campaigns–and they’re all running. I’m getting cheaper clicks, more leads, for less bucks. Do you know why?

Because Google’s policy change has thinned the herd–again.

So, “Thank You Google for changing your affiliate advertising policy!”

Had I kept an organised blog back then, I may have even bored you with daily updates of the three agonizing months it took to produce the course. IN VIDEO.

But luckily, you’ve been spared.

Within the hours of video that make up the bulk of this course, I share how I have been producing my home business leads for the past two years.

When we launched the beta of this course back in November, I had no idea we would sell out so quick. And then I spent the next few weeks nervous waiting for some kind of feedback. None came for some time.

Little by little, trickles of our beta testers began to add me on Facebook and Twitter. Small “thank you” notes and mini-testimonials of their results in their add requests.

What truly humbled me was when Mike Dillard wrote in asking for their testimonials and results…MANY MANY people were so generous with their time. They responded. I literally saw FLOODS of reviews from our testers.

So I want to take this opportunity to thank you all. Everyone who beta tested the product and asked questions on our live calls. Everyone who sent in a testimonial or review, written or video, positive or negative. I am very happy to have helped serve you all!

Most of all, I want to thank my friends Mike Dillard and Tim Erway for their constructive criticisms, for coming up with the idea of this product, for helping me structure the material in a way that everyone can understand. And of course, for helping me reach you.

I’m also very grateful to Dr. Sane Yagi and Dr. Basma Yaghi who were actively involved with me in testing the content for understandability by newbies. They loaned me their lack of expertise and knowledge in Internet Marketing and PPC.  Sane helped me create examples and specific slides. Basma was my guinea pig;  before anyone else took the course, she took it. Then she used what she learned to begin a new career in CPA marketing.

If you missed out on the beta-launch of PPC domination and you don’t want to miss out again, then register to get the free PPC Domination videos showing how I get 150 MLM leads / days, how Sophia and Aaron Rashkin are getting 90 leads/day, and the top 5 mistakes people make when using Google Adwords.

Of course, you’ll also be reminded on the 19th when the course is officially launched!

Do people jump from MLM to Internet Marketing?

Last week, Andrea asked an uncomfortable and provactive question in the betternetworker forum.

And I must admit, for a long time, I dodged this particular question whenever anyone else asked. Mainly because I didn’t know the answer. And now I know. So, here’s her question below and my response:

Hey there!

Last week, Andrea asked an uncomfortable and provactive question in the betternetworker forum.

Do people jump from MLM to IM?

Postby AndreaVahl on 21 Dec 2008 14:41

Does it seem like people who start bringing their MLM business to the internet get pulled into Internet Marketing and affiliate marketing? Is IM easier than MLM? Are people having more success selling an e-book than selling their MLM opportunity? Just some questions I’ve been kicking around and curious what others thought….

Could it be true?

Do network marketers who get online looking for better ways to market their business end up getting sucked into Internet Marketing?

Of course, the answer is YES. But not just because it’s somehow inherintly “easier”.

Below is a copy of my response to Andrea, directly from the forum:

Andrea,

The simple answer is “Yes”….

Oh, yah i had more. But I hesitate to say because it’s controversial. We’re all grown ups here, no one’s gonna get cry because of this, right?

The True Story of How Stuff Happened

MLM is how we’ve come to label those marketing opportunities stuck in the stone age. They don’t have systems suitable for online and they don’t train people to use online lead generation methods.

The reason is that no one has bothered to tell those company founders about this strange new invention called”The Internet”.

I discovered it a few years ago, and it’s really good.

Apparently, as it turns out, it lets you educate customers and sell your products lightning fast, for a fraction of the cost of doing it using television ads and celebrity endorsements–it lets you cut out the middle man and sell direct to the customer. (Oooohh exciting!)

And you can get an army of entrepreneurs and “wannabe” entrepreneurs to go market your stuff for you with money from their own pocket and time out of their own day. Then you pay them on the sales they make.

Anyway, what happened is that members of these archaic MLM companies are people who never heard of affiliate programs (nor the internet). They went around telling their friends and family who also never heard of affiliate programs about their stone age opportunity. Some of their friends and family jumped on board because they wanted to make more money in their lives.

Poor unsuspecting people. They didn’t know any better. Money didn’t rain from the sky for them. Lucky for them, another friend came and told them about the latest innovation in technology called “The Internet”where they can go and learn opportunity-selling skills.

OMGGGG, suddenly they were exposed to modern marketing companies that sell products, design training, build tools, and create systems suited for reaching, educating, and selling to an infinite supply of customers with the world as their audience. This “The Internet” thing is rather useful! Holy Smoke!

And the entrepreneur-in-the-making suddenly realised–that instead of having to build systems and tools and training from scratch for their backward company, he/she can start a business positioned for the 21 century. Not the stone age. (As we all know, that passed long ago).

So, that, Andrea is the true story of why people leave “MLM” and become “IM” instead. Thank you for your deep and probing question–i thought no one would ever ask it.

Affiliate Marketing and Internet Marketing are the new age of Direct Selling (Multi level marketing, Network Marketing, Home Business).

“What about the residual income? You can’t get that in affiliate marketing!”

Umm….actually, you can. And you don’t have to train or recruit any reps to do it either.

Before I show you some examples, let’s agree on a definition of “residual income”: Money earned and collected many times from a past effort.

In traditional Network Marketing (offline), recruiting new people and putting customers on autoship is the only way to create “residual income”.

Internet Marketing allows you to skip the recruiting aspect of Home Business so you can focus on what actually matters–the selling of the company’s product:

Here are some ways that I personally earn a residual income through Internet marketing:

1.  Sales Letters (or Pre-sales letters)

When I create a sales presentation in writing or video and place it on the web, I never give the same presentation again.

  • The letter may be read/viewed hundreds, thousands, or millions of times with no additional effort.
  • The letter may sell hundreds, thousands, or millions of times forever with no additional effort.

2.  Forum Posts

I generate hundreds of leads every day from forum posts I made in September, 2007.

3. Blog Posting / Twitter / Facebook

I recruit tens of reps from posts I wrote over two years ago. They never get wiped away, and the search engines index them so new people discover them all the time!

4. Email/Autoresponder lists

The email messages you load into your autoresponder continue to be sent out automatically every day, to every subscriber that signs up.

I put over 5,000 NEW people every month through the same messages I wrote two years ago.

5. Product Launches and Affiliate Products

If you maintain your list of email subscribers carefully, you can make money from the SAME people many times over.

Last month, we launched a new training product to our email list. With one short email in about 4 hours, we  grossed over $160,000 in sales without spending a single bit of extra effort (or money) to bring new leads.

6. PPC Advertising

Pay Per Click ads are one of the easiest ways i know to generate traffic on autopilot. It takes a bit of skill initially to set them up, but once you push the button they keep working.

Me and my business partner (between us) bring in 10,000 leads per month using PPC–and we pushed that button nearly a year ago.

Now you tell me, if the internet were to give you THAT much leverage, what do you need to sign up new distributors for?

I don’t tell you this to suggest you turn all your applicants away. Only weaklings.

Once in a while, you’ll see someone who has the potential and dedication to learn what you know. And in those instances, allow yourself to invest in training them so they add power to your team.

The rest are leaches. They steal time and add little value.

In the new age of Network Marketing, the internet replaces them.

How the Heck is Jim Gonna Get 1,000 MLM Leads/Day With Pay Per Click Ads!?

Welcome to the first of my Coffee Adventures video series. I’ve been thinking about starting a video diary for a while and i procrastinated on it long enough. With 2009 round the corner, it’s my goal to keep regular entries throughout the year. So let’s see how this pans out!

Hey guys and girls it’s jim yaghi here!

Welcome to the first of my Coffee Adventures video series. I’ve been thinking about starting a video diary for a while and i procrastinated on it long enough. With 2009 round the corner, it’s my goal to keep regular entries throughout the year. So let’s see how this pans out!

Jim’s Coffee adventures is just something i thought of because i love spending time in coffee shops around the world. Not that i like the taste of coffee…i have to put like 4 tablespoons of sugar and chocolate and vanilla and cinnamon just to make it bearable. But this all started back in Sydney when i was a poor broke student. I was hanging out at coffee shops so i could meet new people to network with–and it was there i learned to become an alpha recruiter.

This is my first adventure and it’s a tough one.

You might already know this about me–i’m obsessed with Paid search engine marketing particularly pay per click with Google Adwords and Yahoo. And since July, I’ve managed to pull a steady 150 leads almost EVERY day for my primary business.

Now I’ve got a few projects in the works with a friend of mine and we realised that for it to work, i’m gonna need to step up my lead generation to 1,000 leads per day some how.

I’d love to tell you that it’s just a matter of throwing more money on ads or something like that but it’s not. The only reason i’m not generating 1000 leads a day already is that i’ve hit an obstacle.

Somebody suggested that i’ve pretty much tapped out all the traffic there is to be had on Pay Per Click.

I think i’ve barely scratched the surface.

How do i know?

Well, here’s what i think:

I am friends with 3 major MLM players who generate home business opportunity leads with pay per click. Each of them gets approximately 100 or so daily leads. So between me and them we’re generating at least 450 leads daily. And that’s just the people i know!

So I’m pretty sure that there’s at least that meany leads a day out there…waiting for me in pay per click. And i can have them as soon as i overcome this obstacle!

I’ll fill you in on what that is in a second, but first…here’s where you come in.

Over the next few weeks and maybe months, i’m going to keep you posted about everything i tried, what worked and what didn’t. This way, you can pull some nuggets to use in your own marketing. And hey, if you follow along with me, by the time this adventure is done, you could be generating hundreds of leads for your own business using Pay Per Click marketing.

So if you like, click in this video to view it in youtube, then post a reply video and tell me what you’ve been trying, what’s working, and what’s not. Feel free to use screen shots, props, skits, and friends to demonstrate with. It’s up to you–or just watch silently!

Whenever i face a challenge with pay per click, i divide it into 3 phases. they are 1) Impressions, 2) clicks, and 3) conversions. Because that’s pretty much all there is to creating a profitable campaign in pay per click. And they have to be in this order to make sense–i mean, no point working on writing a perfect ad that gets a high click rate if i’m not getting impressions to begin with for example.

That’s why my first challenge is to generate impressions for my ads. I dont care if they get clicked or if they sell or make money–i just need many many many people from the right audience to see my ads.

What better way to do that than by finding new and related keywords to trigger the ads?

Easier said than done. This is my obstacle. Since July, I have tried and I can’t seem to find appropriate keywords not already in my campaign. They’re always either infrequently searched or not what i would consider relevant. Now, I’m about to change that!

Stay tuned to hear the rest of the plan!
